The Hannover Medical School offers its employees a wide range of services within the scope of occupational health management. This includes, among other things, the holistic health programme „Fit for Work and Life®“ incl. Smoking cessation, nutritional offers and psychotherapeutic advice and support as well as opportunities for employee sports and university sports.

Employees are registered with the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL). Employers' and employees' contributions are used to build up an additional pension scheme. In addition, voluntary insurance in the form of salary conversion and Riester pension is also possible.

Since 01.05.2009, the parties to collective agreements have made it possible for doctors to participate in a salary conversion. This, too, is a form of occupational pension provision. MHH’s cooperation partner is ECCLESIA mildenberger HOSPITAL.

The Hannover Medical School is very well connected to public transport by tram, bus and S-Bahn. Our employees have the opportunity to purchase a job ticket at discounted conditions.

Parking is possible on the MHH-Campus or free of charge at the Gerhard-Lossin-Straße car park.

As a state company of the state of Lower Saxony, we offer transparent remuneration through the application of collective agreements negotiated by the collective bargaining association of German states. Our largest groups of employees are employees according to the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L) and doctors (TV-Doctors).

In addition, you can save money and conclude a contract with an appropriate provider. As a full-time employee, you receive an employer’s share of 6.65 euros per month and can save up to 40.00 euros. In doing so, you decide on the type of assets you want (building savings contract, savings plan, life insurance, ...).

Despite its 500,000 inhabitants, the capital of Lower Saxony is one of the greenest cities in Germany. Almost half of the city area consists of green areas such as the Eilenriede, the zoo and various parks such as the city park. At the same time, Hannover has a rich cultural offer with various museums and events. For example, the Sprengelmuseum presents a globally significant collection of 20th-century art and contemporary art. The Staatsoper, the Schauspielhaus, the Theater am Aegi and many more invite to performances. Hanover is known among other things for the biggest shooting festival in the world. But also the Maschseefest, the international fireworks competition and the small festival in the large garden enjoy great popularity. For those who prefer a little quieter, visit the Hanover Adventure Zoo, stroll through the Herrenhäuser Gardens or do water sports on the Maschsee or the Ihme. The surrounding countryside is also ideal for excursions. Destinations such as the Steinhuder Meer, the Deisters mountain range and the Marienburg Castle can be reached quickly from Hannover.
