Our research groups are based in the state-of-the-art Pediatric Research Center with 4,500 sqm of research space directly adjacent to the Children's Hospital.

Integrated in various national and international scientific networks and research associations (e.g. the German Center for Lung Research (DZL), RESIST Cluster of Excellence, pedCAPNETZ and TRAIN), we pursue an active program in basic and clinical research.

Our research focuses on allergies and asthma, cystic fibrosis, autoimmune diseases, innate immunity and respiratory medicine. Our scientific activities are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Research Foundation.
