Peripheral nerve surgery
Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Hannover Medical School’s Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery is cutting edge surgical treatment for pain or loss of function caused by injury and/or compression of nerves.
The peripheral nervous system consists of all the nerves that are outside of the brain and the spinal cord: the nerves in your arms and legs, in your face, and in your chest and abdomen. Whether caused by injury, surgery, or conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, damage to the peripheral nerves can lead to chronic pain or loss of function.
Plexus Surgery
If you have damage to the brachial plexus, you can experience problems, such as pain or weakness or paralysis in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, or hands. If severe enough, you may not be able to use your arm at all.
The Hannover Medical School’s Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery provide all advanced microsurgical techniques to repair damaged muscles and tendons and the delicate nerves of the brachial plexus. Our team of surgeons, neurologists, and clinical specialists works to restore function of your arm and to reduce pain, weakness, and other symptoms of brachial plexus nerve injury.
