Research Focus
The basic research interest of our group includes the developmental biology of different T cell subsets. In particular, we are interested in the mechanisms that drive the formation of "innate-like" T cells in the thymus. These T cells, which exhibit features of innate and adaptive immunity, are considered to bridge the two parts of the immune system. Accordingly, this cell subset is able to modulate different immune responses, making it an interesting target for immunotherapies. Currently, we are studying the early developmental steps of these T cells as well as their differentiation into different phenotypes, which shapes their phenotype.
