Welcome to the Institute of Transfusion Medicine and Transplant Engineering
The Institute of Transfusion Medicine and Transplant Engineering focuses on biotechnology approaches in organ and stem cell transplantation to combat rejection and infection. We work with the highest priority to optimize allogeneic and xenogeneic biomaterials to perfectly meet patients' needs for cell replacement.
Our vision to avoid rejection is to create immunologically invisible organs. The generation of Invisible Organs by transplant engineering of donor organs prior to transplantation can be the solution: for a life without rejection and immunosuppression, for better transplant survival, more quality of life and more available organs. Our vision for the control of the most severe infections is cellular immunotherapy with personalized immune cells from selected donors: alloCELL offers help where other options often fail.
