Routes and implementations of Open Access publishing
Open access journals are scientific journals that are freely accessible via the Internet according to the principles of open access. The electronic publication of research results without access restrictions makes scientific information more visible. The positive consequence is that they are cited more frequently. The majority of OA publishers conduct peer review of submitted articles.
In practice, three different publication routes have become established for implementing OA.
