New videos: RESIST Cluster of Excellence researchers explain their work on the cause, diagnosis and therapy of infections

Infection research is about more than just corona viruses - also in the RESIST team, a Cluster of Excellence led by Hannover Medical School (MHH). The approximately 50 scientists are looking for answers to the questions: Why can certain viruses and bacteria become particularly dangerous for some people? What role do genes and the immune system play in this? How can we predict the course of the disease, develop individual therapies and ultimately help those affected?
The RESIST researchers want to find answers to these questions. They explain how they go about it in new videos that you can find on the RESIST homepage. We uploaded a preview for you on YouTube. You can find the German version here and the English version here.
The Cluster of Excellence RESIST: Research for the Weakest
In the Cluster of Excellence RESIST (Resolving Infection Susceptibility), about 50 research teams are working on one goal: they want to better protect particularly vulnerable people from infections. RESIST includes doctors who work in hospitals and are very familiar with the situation of patients, as well as basic scientists who research pathogens and their interaction with the immune system down to the smallest detail. RESIST consists of six partner institutions, the spokesperson is Professor Dr. Thomas Schulz, head of the MHH Institute of Virology. RESIST is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
