DFG Equal Opportunities Fund Pooling

Equality Measures for DFG Research Units

Program for Pooling DFG Equality Funds

Hannover Medical School offers workshops, individual coaching, childcare, and counseling within DFG Research Units.

Through the numerous DFG-funded collaborative projects, significant funds in the form of equal opportunities allowances are allocated to Hannover Medical School each year. By pooling these equal opportunities allowances (see DFG form 52.14 – 10/11) and establishing a coordination, Hanover Medical School offers a program with individual components which benefits everyone.

We are happy to consider ideas and suggestions for specific measures from female researchers and consortium spokespersons.

Background:

The DFG provides funding for equality measures, which can be requested by research units to strengthen their activities in this area (see, for example, DFG form 60.09 – 5/10).

These funds are intended to be used to:

  • Increase the number of female researchers at the project leadership level,
  • Support young female researchers working in the research unit in advancing their academic careers, and
  • Make the workplace "science" more family-friendly.
