The Hanover Medical School (MHH) is one of the most top-performing universities in Germany. Whether in research, patient care or teaching: With its concept of selected priority funding, the MHH has secured one of the leading positions in the top group of German university hospitals in recent years. The outstanding research achievements of Germany's only purely medically oriented university have been highlighted in the federal and state excellence initiative. The MHH was rated the most successful university in Northern Germany and the best university hospital in the entire country. The MHH focuses on transplantation and stem cell research, regenerative medicine, infection and immune research, public health and health system research. The more than 1.200 scientists have more than 25.000 square meters of laboratory space at their disposal on the campus in Groß-Buchholz.
