UniStem Day at Hannover Medical School: A European Education Day for the Future of Science!

The UniStem Day is a European education day that brings together students from different countries every year to give them an insight into the fascinating world of stem cell research. Since 2016, this special day has been celebrated in Germany, and it has now grown into a global event, with participation from countries such as Colombia, Singapore, and Australia.
Each year, thousands of students participate in over 15 cities and numerous universities and research institutions across Germany to spend an entire day immersed in scientific programs focused on stem cell research. UniStem Day has become an invaluable platform to inspire young people about the world of research.
In addition to Germany, more and more countries are joining this international event: Austria, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden are just a few of the participating nations.
This year, students at Hannover Medical School had the opportunity to explore the theme "The Neverending Journey of Stem Cell Research," organized by Ruth Olmer and Nico Lachmann, learning about current research projects and their significance.
Special thanks to the partners DZL and RESIST for making this educational day possible.
For Teachers: If you would like your students to take part in UniStem Day 2026, please register early.
Get inspired by science!
