The Role of Purinergic Immune Regulation in the Peritoneal Tumor Microenvironment
Purinergic signaling pathways, which include the ectonucleotidases ENTPD1 (CD39) and ENTPD3, are critically involved in the formation of a microenvironment conducive to tumor growth and are expressed not only on tumor cells but also on tumor-associated immune cells such as T cells, macrophages, and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). The goal of our research is to characterize the role of CD39 and ENTPD3 expressing immune cells in the context of metastasis of various tumor entities.
