Experts report on diseases, present surgical therapies and answer questions from the public.
The aorta is the largest artery in the human body. It is also known as the main artery and transports oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the entire body via vessels branching off from it. This organ is the focus of an event at the Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery at Hannover Medical School (MHH): The team from the ‘Aortic Surgery’ department led by Professor Dr Aron-Frederik Popov is organising the 9th ‘Thoracic Aortic Surgery’ patient day.
We would like to invite patients, relatives and all interested people to Patient Day
- on Saturday, 21 September 2024
- from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm
- in lecture theatre F, building J1, Carl-Neuberg-Straße 1, 30625 Hannover.
The clinic, headed by Professor Dr Arjang Ruhparwar, is one of the world's leading centres for the surgical treatment of diseases of the aorta in the thoracic and abdominal area, such as aneurysms and ruptures or tears in the vessel wall. The patient day will focus on these and other diseases and their surgical treatment options. After a series of short presentations, experts from the ‘Aortic Surgery’ department will be available to answer questions from the audience. They will also show interesting CT images and demonstrate vascular prostheses. The ‘Aortis’ self-help group and Marfan Hilfe Deutschland e.V. will also be represented.
The programme for the ‘Thoracic Aortic Surgery’ patient day can be found here.
