In January, Ximena León Lara, a PhD graduate in the international doctoral programme ‘Infection Biology’, received the ‘Infection Biology PhD Prize’, worth 1,000 euros, for her work entitled ‘Postnatal maturation traits and functionality of γδ T cells in children from malaria-endemic areas and in preterm neonates with sepsis’. The prize is sponsored by RESIST.
